I’ve gotten lazy about posting here, and I apologize. Susan started reading the MLWC blog, and took the time to leave a bunch of well-thought-out questions and comments. I really appreciate it! This was motivation enough for me to give you a long-overdue Jinx and Milo update!
First of all, let me say that I cannot believe it is already December, DOUBLE DIGITS into the month, TWO WEEKS until Christmas!!! Where has the year gone??? In upstate NY, we’re usually “enjoying” temps in the 20s and 30s by this time, with lots of snow, ice, wind, and school delays. This year, it’s not the case. We’re experiencing temps in the mid-40s, and even 50s! Whether it’s due to global warming, climate change, or just some freak of nature, who knows. It doesn’t LOOK or FEEL like Christmas, which adds to the surrealness of everything.
December is always a tough time of year for me. Nine years ago (as of December 12), I lost my Mom in a car accident. So there’s always the heaviness of that anniversary, once I flip the calendar to the last page. Also, since separating from my ex-husband two years ago, I haven’t felt like putting up a tree or celebrating Christmas. Darlene Love had a great song on the “Home Alone 2” soundtrack that went: “Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas.” I really would be alone, if not for these two luvbunnies!
They’re happy and healthy, and I am so grateful for their unconditional love!
Be well, be kind, and be grateful…
