Apartment Hunting… With Cats.

I’ve been on the lookout for a new apartment for months now. It’s been a difficult and nerve-wracking task. At times, I want to give up and just stay where I am… even though the oven hasn’t worked for two years, there’s no way to enter the basement because the doorknob fell apart, and the outside porch light doesn’t function. Not to mention the noisy neighbors, including the ones who let their pit bull crap all over the driveway so that I must tiptoe through the dog turds everyday.

It’s not that there’s a lack of apartments in Watertown. I check Craigslist every day, and there are scads of them. Cost is one thing; I’ll definitely be moving in with a roommate. But the other, more serious problem is that most landlords don’t allow cats (or pets in general). Here are a couple of examples of ads for beautiful apartments that would be perfect for me, if only…

So, as you can see, I’m in a conundrum. There is no way I would ever give Jinx or Milo away. They are a huge part of my life… as well as my heart. So I’m going to keep looking, and praying.

If anyone else has similar stories to share, I would like to hear from you.
